Meet the Team!
There have been several coach operators on Exmoor who used this name in the past, including Mansells Blue Motors of Lynmouth, and the Blue Motors of Minehead and Porlock, both having disappeared by the mid 1950s.
When transport enthusiast Martyn Babb was faced with redundancy in 1996 the opportunity was taken to start a heritage excursions business to enable holidaymakers to relive the halcyon summer days of the past, visiting parts of Exmoor that large modern coaches are unable to visit. Reviving the Blue Motors name provided a link with that past.
The arrival of foot and mouth disease almost finished things, but school bus contracts and the development of some rural bus services kept things moving, with a small group of experienced and popular drivers, and when these services were sold in 2007, we were once again able to concentrate on the original idea, classic coach travel for that special day out.
